We all have a responsibility to keep pupils safety protecting them from abuse, neglect and other safeguarding concerns.
In cases where the school has reason to be concerned about a child we may consult with the family or involve other agencies as appropriate. The school will not first inform parents of concerns in cases where a child’s safety may be further compromised by them doing so.
Parents who wish to bring cars to school should note that they are not allowed to use the school car park and, additionally, should not use, or park on, Church View itself. This narrow road is not suitable for lots of traffic and can be a major safety hazard for our children. Those who can walk their children to school, please do so.
If you have any worries or concerns about the safety of your child, or you think that it might be helpful to talk to someone in private about any issues, you are always welcome to come and see us for a chat and to share ideas or information.

Safeguarding in the curriculum
At our school, we make sure safeguarding is part of everything we teach and learn. We have a clear plan for safeguarding that includes the important information every child needs to know to stay safe. This core knowledge is included in all areas of learning, so students hear and understand it regularly.
We also link our safeguarding learning to our PSHE curriculum. This means we make sure key safeguarding ideas are taught again and again over time, helping students remember and build on what they have learnt. By including safeguarding in PSHE lessons, we make it part of their everyday learning in a way that makes sense.
Each week, we hold Staying Safe collective worships to help everyone understand how to stay safe. These sessions cover different topics, like staying safe online or looking after your well-being, in a way that is easy to understand and relevant for all students.
Every half term, we also run special sessions focused on specific safeguarding topics. These sessions might address issues in the news, challenges in the local community, or other important concerns. This helps students learn about real-life issues and understand how to keep themselves safe in different situations. By doing this, we make sure our safeguarding teaching stays up-to-date and meaningful for everyone.
